Applications are invited from experienced and competent Economic Operators who wish to be included on a restricted list of firms who will be asked to tender for the above contract. Applicants must be registered with Constructionline, or a body who carries out the equivalent certification function. The contract is regulated by the Public Contracts Regulations 2006. The work involves widening both sides of an existing 7.3m wide single carriageway over a 3.2km length. Provision of right turning facilities, a climbing lane and a full asphalt overlay to the existing carriageway and tie-ins to 14 existing at-grade junctions. Provision of earthworks in the form of widening to embankment crests and steepening of cuttings. Provision of a 100m long earth reinforced slope. Ancillary works include footways, drainage, fencing, road restraint systems, road markings, signs, landscaping and land owner accommodation works. The following service utilities are affected by the scheme: NIE, BT, Eircom, Virgin Media, and NIW Service. A substantial Eircom / Virgin Media diversion is required. The works contract period is 20 weeks, commencing in Spring 2010.
