The National Library of Scotland (NLS) is seeking, and the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) may also seek an established data network services provider to maintain and provide specified services covering, in general terms, the maintenance and possible development of both organisations’ data network and associated hardware. This tender is aimed at “break-fix” support, full support on Checkpoint NGX and R70 on both Firewall Management software and on the hardware firewall which is configured for high availability (HA) and upgrades to the network hardware firmware as and when required. Additional value-added services, such as remote network monitoring, are of interest to both organisations but will not be a mandatory requirement.The contract will run for 3 years.Specifically the supplier would be expected to provide the following services in a timely manner:- Fix or replace faulty network equipment on site. This includes switches of the following brands: Nortel, and possibly Cisco, CentreCom, 3Com, HP and Netgear.- Product upgrades (both minor and major)- Patch management and alerts (which should be forwarded by e-mail to the relevant staff)- Firmware upgrades on Firewall hardware, core and edge switches.- Product roadmaps- Software support for network management tools, including Nortel Device Manager, Checkpoint Firewall NGX and R70 and Contivity 1750 VPN- Cable and adapter management- Bug fix software- Access to vendor web sites
