Description
NOMS Social Enterprise Challenge As part of National Offender Management Service's (NOMS) continuing commitment to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with the social enterprise sector, which includes working with the Probation Trust and Prisons, NOMS is pleased to announce two new funding opportunities. The intention is to encourage the sector to work with NOMS to develop creative new approaches to service delivery. Skills, Employment and Community Payback (CP) Total fund up to GBP 200k (to Dec 2011) Proposals are invited for new enterprise based supervision models that can also deliver skills and employability training in a realistic work environment to these groups and offenders on community sentences more generally. Your proposal should seek to be self funding (through trading activity) but also build added social/community value. Sustainable Development Total fund up to GBP 200k (to Dec 2011) Renewable energy, recycling and other related sectors potentially offer significant opportunities for offender employment. We want to explore whether it is possible to link training and work experience (in a relevant commercial setting) with the parallel objectives of reducing cost, minimising waste and striving for carbon neutrality. Proposals may be linked to prison industries/workshops or be based in the community or both. The funding for both streams has been provided by the European Social Fund - and is only available in England. The Ministry of Justice will be performing procurement events through its eSourcing Portal. The eSourcing Portal is an online application that allows all potential suppliers to create and submit their responses to any Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Quotes (RFQ), or Requests for Proposals (RFP) via the internet rather than in paper form (where they have been invited to respond). If you are not registered on the eSourcing Portal please send an email to the eSourcing Portal helpdesk (esourcing@noms.gsi.gov.uk) stating: Company Name Your Name Contact email Sourcing Reference Number: 0428-1-Reducing Reoffending-SE-RFP The eProcurement Central Support helpdesk will then contact you with the registration process. If you are already registered on the eSourcing Portal please contact Ame Dada at ame.dada@noms.gsi.gov.uk expressing your interest in the sourcing event. You will then be notified by email when the sourcing event has been opened. The application process is straightforward: The relevant tender documents can be obtained by following the registration process outlined above: Completed forms should be submitted online by 17 September 2010. We will make a decision and inform applicants of the outcome by 27 September 2010 We anticipate that pilot activity will commence by late October/early November 2010.
