Provision of an Insurance and Risk management Advisory Service The awarding authority has a dedicated Risk Management Section within the Finance and Procurement Management Service. The section is responsible for arranging the Council?s insurance programme and provides a claim administration and handling service. The section also assists the Council to develop, implement and promote it?s Risk Management Strategy.The Council operates an insurance fund following the best practice guidance issued by the Local Authority (Scotland) Accounts Advisory Committee (LASAAC) in June and December 1995. This includes having a triennial valuation of the fund carried out and certified by a member of either the Institute of Actuaries or the Faculty of Actuaries. Insurance cover is also purchased where there are insurable risks that pose a threat to the Council?s financial stability.The Council requires the services of an Insurance Advisor to assist in the following areas:Insurance ?
