Description
Kerry County Council are seeking to provide a Project Supervisor Construction Stage for the Advance Works Contracts on the above-mentioned Tralee Bypass/Tralee to Bealgrellagh Road Improvement scheme.The Role and Duties of the PSCS are as defined under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety Health and Welfare at Work(Construction) Regulations 2006.This contract is expected to last for 30 weeks (June 2010 to January 2011) The Advance Works encompass 5 no. contracts over a 13.5km route, mainly in rural countryside.The scope of the Advanced Works is decribed below, and the scope of the scheme is shown in Drawing Nos. 09-547-001 to 09-547-015.The Advance Works Contracts will include fencing, archeological test trenching and resolution, ground investigation, service diversions and topographical surveys. The scope of each contract may result in a number of contractors working in the same area. Landowners may also require access across across the site at defined locations. The proposed scope and duration of each contract is outlined below.• Ground Investigation - Approximately 130 trial pits and 40 boreholes, with up to 20 rotary core boreholes within the CPO line to be carried out in June-August 2010• Topographical Survey - GPS survey of the entire route corridor to be carried out in June-August 2010• Fencing - Erection of temporary fencing along the CPO line to be carried out in June-July 2010• Service Diversions - Advance diversion of ESB, telecom and water services within the CPO line to be carried out in August – December 2010• Archaeologyo Geophysical, topographical and architectural surveys to be carried out in June – July 2010o - Test trenching - Test trenching over 12% of the area within the CPO line (Approximately 57,000 linear metres) August-October 2010o Resolution of Sites - Excavation of sites within the CPO line revealed by test trenching will be carried out in December 2010-March 2011
