Description
There is a requirement to provide Office Cleaning Services for the Civic Centre. The contract will also be available for use at other SBC locations, including Queensway, MTH and Southchurch Road, as well as other smaller locations across the Borough, including libraries. Flexibility will be included within the requirements so that buildings and parts of buildings can be added or removed from the contractual arrangements as SBC changes its estate over the next few years. There will also be flexibility around the provision of the service to the Civic Centre and other buildings used for decant during the refurbishment period. The cleaning service will include general waste removal, provision of cleaning materials and provision of cleaning. Removal of waste from sanitary bins is covered under a separate contract. The security service will include provision of manned guarding, key-holding and call-out services for emergency situations. The current contractual arrangements allow for wider flexibility, for example the ability for schools to obtain security services at the same rate as that for the Civic Centre. This has proven to be very cost effective recently and it is considered beneficial to retain such flexibility.
