Description
The National Consumer Agency (NCA) is a statutory body established by the Irish Government in May 2007. It aims to defend consumer interests and to embed a robust consumer culture in Ireland.In March 2010, the consumer financial services related information and education function, previously under the responsibility of the Financial Regulator was transferred to the NCA. One of the information services the NCA offers amongst others, is a personal finance website – itsyourmoney.ie. It includes a section (itsyourmoney.ie/costcomparisons) that houses twelve personal finance-related product cost comparisons.Currently, there are three insurance cost comparisons: motor insurance, home insurance, life insurance. There are nine banking cost comparisons including: personal current accounts, student current accounts, regular savings accounts, lump sum deposit accounts, personal loans, credit cards, student credit cards, student loan and student travel loan and another one on mortgages is anticipated.The objective of our cost comparisons to date has been to:· provide consumers with clarity and transparency on the costs, risks and benefits of the relevant products;· encourage consumers to shop around by highlighting potential savings/better value.The NCA requires the services of a firm to redevelop the existing banking cost comparisons (and possibly one more) on itsyourmoney.ie.It is intended that the redevelopment project, will make the cost comparisons, more interactive, more relevant to users specific needs and provide greater transparency of the costs risks and benefits of financial products. They will also integrate existing site content and tools such as calculators.We are looking to source a web development company for this once-off project to implement the requirements of this specification document and create the requirements for each of the 10 cost comparisons. It should be noted that the successful candidate will be required to work with our in-house team and other existing suppliers where required.
